Harvest for The Box

Epping United Reformed Church presented a cheque for £2070 to The Box at its harvest festival on Sunday.

This represents a year of fundraising by members of the church who have also collected spare change throughout the year. Events have included coffee mornings, a Murder Mystery Evening and a Fairtrade Fashion Show.

The trustees would like to thank Epping URC for its generous and faithful support for the work of The Box.

Marjorie Austin receives Leaders Award!

Marjorie Austin, a trustee of The Koinonia Youth Trust, received a Jack Petchey Leaders Award for her work with the Trust at an awards ceremony at Waltham Abbey on 11th July. The following is the citation for Marjorie:

"Marjorie receives this Leadership Award for her continued outstanding work at a local youth facility called The Box.  The facility works with young people within Epping to allow them to develop a whole range of skills, both social and educational.  The benefits that this facility gives to St John's students is immeasurable and the work that people like Marjorie do within this organisation allows many young people from St John's School to develop themselves greatly.

"Marjorie received a grant of £1000 which was donated to The Box so that the organisation could continue its important work with the local youngsters."
